Are you ready for Winter?

Are you ready for winter? It’s ‘snow’ worries with Wynsors!

Winter in the UK usually consists of gale force winds, heavy rainfall, and gloomy grey skies. This year, however, winter is expected to be whiter than usual, with some forecasters predicting 3 months of heavy snow!  We doubt it will be to the same standards of Russia and Canada, but the snow can still cause chaos if not properly prepared for.

So here is our top 10 essential items for staying safe and one step ahead of the snow this winter!

1 – Footwear

Snow Footwear

Our number one item is footwear, obviously! Well, you can’t achieve anything in the snow and ice if you can’t stay on your feet!

Winter footwear has to comprise of multiple factors.  For us, this includes safety, warmth, comfort, style and great value.  Our range of men’s, ladies,  boy’s and girl’s winter footwear is a combination of all these!  With kids character wellies and snow boots starting at just £6, and an adult range from £10, you can put the savings towards Christmas!

2 – Gloves

Magic GlovesWhether you’re clearing snow off the windscreen, having a snowball fight with the kids or building a snowman (or snowwoman!), your hands can bear the brunt of the cold!  To ensure your digits stay toasty warm a pair of gloves are vital!

3 – Hat and Scarf

Scarf and Hat

You lose the majority of your heat through your head, so put a lid on and keep the warmth in!  A nice warm hat to keep your head warm, and a scarf for your neck, ensures your body is well protected in the arctic like extremities!  Putting your existing hats and scarves on snowmen and snow-women (just to be politically correct!) is a great excuse for getting new ones!

4 – Snow Shovel

Just getting from the door to the car can be a trial worse than those seen on I’m A Celebrity! With the right footwear and clothing now sorted, you’re ready to tackle the cold, wet, white stuff!  A clear area that’s safe for the family can be made a lot easier with the use of this relatively cheap tool!

5 – De-Icer

De-Icer

It may sound obvious, but a can or two of de-icer can be your best friend!  Picture the scene; you get up late, you rush out of the door thinking you might just be on time for work – and then see your car covered in a layer of snow, that has frozen to the windscreen.  It takes ages going in and out of the house with a kettle of lukewarm water (hot would crack the glass), and besides, it freezes again straight away.

Stick the heaters on full blast, a good squirt of de-icer and a couple of minutes later you should be good to go!

6 – Snow Toys
